Quality Assurance Beyond Borders

Institutional audits are a critical component of the quality assurance process in higher education. To this end, the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Professor Wilson Parawira, was part of the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) panel of external auditors that assessed the University of Eswatini from 23 – 28 October 2023.

External quality assurance auditors play a crucial role in university institutional audits by providing an objective and unbiased evaluation of the institution’s processes, procedures, and outcomes. Their expertise and recommendations help institutions to improve their performance and demonstrate their commitment to quality and transparency.

On the sidelines of the audit, Professor Parawira had the opportunity to interact with the Eswatini Higher Education Council Chief Executive Officer, Dr Loretta Mkhonta.

The Eswatini Higher Education Council was established in 2015 to enhance the quality and relevance of higher education in the country.
