The Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE), a quality control regulatory authority, was established by an Act of Parliament, [Chapter 25:27], in 2006, to promote and co-ordinate education provided by higher and tertiary institutions, superintend over standards, act as a regulator in the determination and maintenance of examinations, academic qualifications and research.
This position exists to maintain a clean environment within the premises at the ZIMCHE.
- Nature and Scope
The incumbent must pay attention to detail and concern for order and general cleanliness. He/she must be familiar with various detergents and cleaning agents and must store them appropriately. The Cleaner/ Office Messenger must have basic experience of at least 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a high office maintaining confidentiality from time to time. It is the responsibility of the cleaner to report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Director, Administration. Incumbent will perform any other administrative duties as assigned by the Director Administration.
The following are the key responsibilities of the Cleaner/Messenger at ZIMCHE:
- Cleaning the Boardroom and preparing teas and refreshments for the meetings.
- Maintaining a generally clean environment within the premises.
- He/she will maintain an environment free from health hazards;
- Dispatch mail and files daily.
- 5 “O” Level including English
- Basic appreciation of cleaning detergents
- 1-2 years’ experience
